A man has died in a “tragic accident” while chopping down trees on a farm in Fife over the weekend. The man hasn’t yet been named by police but it’s thought that one of the trees he was cutting fell on him, causing fatal injuries.
It happened at Brigton Farm, near St Andrews, at 1000 BST on Saturday.
The site and the safety procedures in place are to be evaluated by Health & Safety experts. A Fife Constabulary spokesman said: “We can confirm we were called to an area of farmland in the St Andrews area of Fife where a man died in what appears to be a tragic accident.
“Fife Police are still at the early stages of investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
